Zanjan Province
Zanjan, the capital of Zanjan Province in Iran, with an area of 21733 square kilometers, lies 298 km north-west of Tehran on the main highway to Tabriz and Turkey and approximately 125 km from the Caspian Sea. The city is located about 20 kilometers south of the Qaflankuh Mountain Range. According to a census run on 2016, it carried a population of 521,302 people; this proves Zanjan as the 20th largest city in Iran. The population of Zanjan consists mostly of Iranian Azeris who can also speak the Azerbaijani language. Zanjan’s population are the happiest one among the people of 30 other provinces in Iran, according to a detailed survey conducted by Isna.
Shilandar Village
People used to know Shilandar as Chilandareh but they have changed this name to Chelangar, Chellandar and Chilandar over time. Situation
It is 64 kilometers northwest of Zanjan province. The architecture of Shilandar Village is similar to Masuleh in Gilan; meaning that the village rests on rooftops. As, their other nice nests are the 50-year-old mulberry and blackberry trees. There are also some old trees in the village that so far have survived. Most of them are cherry, cedar, pine, oak and apple trees.
Attractions
This village is a collection of rare beauties: from its fantastic gardens and springs and waterfall (21 meters high, creating a nice recreation spot for its lovers )to the natural attractions all around the village; including the 8-square-kilometer-wide plain of Shilandar Village, mostly beautiful in spring and summer, covered in flowers such as Abbasi and Tulip. Weather conditions
Like Zanjan the climate of Shilandar Village is very cold and even a few degrees colder. Due to this matter the best months to travel to this historic village are from May to September. In fact, within other seasons there is heavy rainfall and snow, that makes the entrance road to the village so rough.
Life style
As one of the 10 staircases places of, Shillander Village has especial style of living appropriate to the nature surrounded it. In its structures mostly wood, brick and mud brick, has been used; though today the main part of them are vacant.
