One of the most fantastic collections of modern and contemporary art of Iran is in TMoCA.
The museum has been opened since 1977. TMoCA is believed to have the most precious collections of the masterpieces of the modern west outside Europe and North America.

The museum building itself is also considered as a good example of contemporary art, very similar to the underground New York Guggenheim Museum. The majority of the area in the Museum is located underground with a circular walkway that spirals downwards with galleries branching outwards. There are many Western sculptures in the museum’s garden which are made by artists such as Ernst, Giacometti, Magritte and Moore.
A collection that is mostly assembled by founding curators David Galloway and Donna Stein. Statistics show that there is almost £2.5 billion worth of modern art kept at the museum. The museum hosts a revolving program of exhibitions and occasionally organizes exhibitions by local artists.
