Shahr-e kurd

Shahr-e kurd is the capital city of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, Iran. It is the largest city in the province, and is 90 km away from Iran’s third largest city, Isfahan. Shahr-e Kurd is a really magnificent city with a bunch of picturesque scenary.  It is famous for its natural environment, cold winters, waterfalls and rivers. Shahr-e Kurd is Iran’s highest capital city at 2,070 m (6,790 ft) above the sea level. This led the city to be known as “Roof of Iran”. Shahr-e Kurd is at a distance of 521 km (324 mi) southwest from Tehran. Its weather is cold in winter and mild in summer. The town has a ski resort (Bardeh) located about 35 km (22 mi) away and also It has several natural lagoons and small lakes for outdoor activities. Currently, people living in Shahr-e Kurd are of three major backgrounds: Bakhtiari, Qashqai and indigenous Persian speakers of Shahr-e Kurd; however, people of Shahr-e Kurd speak Persian as a lingua franca. The city has a domestic airport which is located in the south of the city.  It currently has flights to and from two cities: Tehran and Mashhad.
