Located in northwestern Iran, this city is the capital of Adrabil Province. Ardabil’s silk and carpet industry are so dynamic that it has made its rugs and ancient Ardabil Carpets a worldwide brand. Some of its World Heritage Sites and attractions are; the Ardabil Shrine, tomb of Shaikh Safi ad-Din (two World Heritage Sites), Masjid Jameh, Mirza Ali Akbar mosque and school, Saint Mary church, and Ardabil bridges. Right in the middle of the city lies Ardabil’s ancient bazaar with domes stretching out in every direction. The bazaar was majorly renovated during Safavid and Zandieh dynasty. Ardabil’s cool climate in the summer makes this city a favorite tourist spot.
